Rick DiPietro did not play due to a hip/knee injury, however Joey MacDonald stepped in, and DiPietro was not necessary

The Islanders were on a streak until one game ago, when the New Jersey Devils beat them 3-0. However, it seems like the Islanders haven’t stumbled since.  The real decider for the Islanders victory has so far been Joey MacDonald. Verse  the Bruins, he walked away with 28 saves. An amazing accomplishment, for someone who was playing in the AHL, only last season. The new Islander, Thomas Pock also somewhat decided the game. His assist would give the Islanders the win. He took a shot from the point, and Jon Sim deflected it in, while he was being guarded by Zdeno Chara. The Islanders would hold onto their lead, and win 3-1. Since the was a pre-season game, there are not many more details at our knowledge right now.
